One position that the Oakland Raiders will most certainly focus on in the draft is defensive end. The Raiders have an excellent pass rusher in Khalil Mack and Sio Moore has shown flashes as a blitzer, but they lacked a true threat to play opposite of Mack. Even though they will probably spend one of their first three draft picks on an edge rusher there are a whole host of veteran pass rushers that could be brought in to bolster depth and tutor the youngsters.

Former Dallas Cowboy Anthony Spencer spent the 2014 season proving his doubters wrong after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee which caused him to miss the 2013 season. In 2012, his best season statistically, Spencer had 95 tackles and finished the year with 11 sacks. He has never posted gaudy sack numbers but has always been solid against the run and was excellent at it in 2014.

Spencer only had half a sack in 2014 as he worked his way back to full health but he was a terror in the Cowboys’ playoff game against the Detroit Lions. He finished that game with a sack, 3 tackles, and a forced fumble. Spencer is trending up after his knee surgery and could be another veteran presence on a young defense. He will also come cheap as the Raiders can sign him to a “prove it” type deal laced with incentives for sacks and tackles.
