Dorial Green-Beckham would bring that wow factor from the outside that the Miami Dolphins desperately need.
The Miami Dolphins enter a year in 2015 where they can finally make the playoffs. Over the offseason, the New England Patriots lost a ton of key players, and although that will hurt them this upcoming season, the reality is that with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in place, the Patriots will always be competitive. To get past the Patriots and get over the hump of first place in the process, the Dolphins need to select well in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Sometimes in the draft, taking risks turns out to pay off for NFL teams. However, not every team takes risks, but for the Dolphins, who really need a key piece to put them over the top, taking a risk on a player is needed. After improving their defense tremendously with the addition of top free agent
Ndamukong Suh, the Dolphins have to focus on improving their offense in this draft.
Ryan Tannehill has shown glimpses of his potential at times, however, he’s never really shown the consistency that is needed to be a top-tier quarterback at the professional level. For the Dolphins to consistently get the most out of Tannehill, they will need to improve the skill position talent around their franchise quarterback.
Currently, the Dolphins have Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, and Rishard Matthews manning the three wide receiver positions. They also have solid options in Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims for tight ends. However, they do not have a player that can simply dominate a football game. What the Dolphins, as well as Tannehill, need is a player who can make other players around him better. If he can keep his head on straight, Dorial Green-Beckham really does fit the bill.
At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, Green-Beckham has the body, size, and catch-radius that quarterbacks in the NFL absolutely love. With his size alone, quarterbacks can really just throw the football up to Green-Beckham and all the receiver needs to do is go up and bring down the football. Green-Beckham really shows the ability to be one of the best receivers in the NFL.
The detriments that could hold him back are his off-field concerns and his overall route-running skills. To be a quality No. 1 receiver in the NFL, it’s a necessity to run every route that’s asked with preciseness and effectiveness. Because of the limited route tree he had at Missouri, Green-Beckham has really only ran nine routes and deep crossing routes. Also, Green-Beckham has a history of problems off the gridiron, a few of which include run-ins with the law, character problems, and overall immaturity.
Despite his problems, Green-Beckham is a player that could immediately walk in day one and be far and away the best receiver on the Dolphins. According to draft experts, his stock has varied. However, most of the best analysts believe that he is worthy of a Top 45 pick.
I have Green-Beckham as a Top 20 player on my big board. Teams may be hard-pressed to take the risk of drafting him, but if he is available when the Dolphins are on the clock, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Dolphins were to draft him. In Joe Philbin’s vertical offensive as the x-receiver, Green-Beckham would flourish.
