Who will win the wide receiver roster battle?

Wide receiver has to be the most interesting Seattle Seahawks roster battle so far in training camp. This is the most talented group of receivers that the Seahawks have had on their roster in a long time. With six maybe seven roster spots up for grabs the competition is fierce.

There is no doubt that the Seahawks best receiver is Doug Baldwin, and he would probably be a number two receiver on most NFL teams. Baldwin racked up 825 receiving yards on 66 catches and scored three touchdowns in 2014. Behind Baldwin the competition is wide open.

Returning receivers Jermaine Kearse, Paul Richardson (injured), Chris Matthews, Kevin Norwood, Richardo Lockette, B.J. Daniels and Kevin Smith will have to battle it out with rookies DeShon Foxx, Kasen Williams and Tyler Lockett for the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

This competition is going to be won in preseason and it may be too tough to call but I think that talented rookie Tyler Lockett will be the No. receiver with big-bodied Chris Matthews and fourth year receiver Jermaine Kearse splitting reps as the No. 3 receiver. The other roster spots are there for the taking and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

It’s that time of year again, let’s get ready for football.
