1. Too much pressure on Tony Romo early in game

As much as I love the offensive line of the Cowboys, you could tell there are still a few kinks to work on with this unit and other areas of the pass blocking of the team, with Romo being knocked to the ground, including sacked on the first two drives of the third preseason game.

More from Dallas Cowboys

We all know Romo will be hit this season, but there is always the thought in the back of my mind where I think about the back issues Romo has had in the past. Being hit during the preseason so close to the season just can’t sit well with anyone … at least, it shouldn’t.

The offensive line, even with four of the five starters, were still missing a former first-round selection in Martin not being on the field. Even with all that talent on the field, the team still needs Martin at guard as well, or they won’t be the same type of line.

Once the official five are back on the field at the same time, and the games start to matter, I have no doubt in my mind they will still be one of, if not the best offensive line in all of football.

As for Romo, even though he was on the ground early in the game, he still played well, finishing 5-of-8 for 88 yards and two touchdown passes, one going to Terrance Williams and the other one to Lucky Whitehead, both in the second quarter.

When Romo was in the game, the Cowboys were in the lead, so that’s a plus for this offense for sure.
