Blitz (with caution)

This is a tricky key to victory, mostly because the Giants probably don’t trust leaving Uani’ Unga in man coverage for a second-straight week. Unga was picked on early and often, and he lacks to speed to deal with running backs coming out of the backfield.

Unfortunately, Jon Beason is listed as doubtful, according to the team’s official Twitter account. That means the team will have to be cautious while blitzing.

Generating pressure is something the defense thrives on, and I’m sure Spags wants to get the first sack of the year against Atlanta.

This Atlanta offensive line, despite signing Jake Long, is not the best in the league, and this is a completely different offense when Ryan doesn’t have the time to deliver the ball.

Spagnuolo loves to utilize creative blitz packages, but the inexperience of Unga limits his options. However, Jasper Brinkley is also on the roster, and the team could use his veteran instincts on the defensive side of the ball.

Blitzing will make the Falcons offense rattled, and the secondary’s job much, much easier. Let’s just hope Unga can hold up in coverage.
