2015 NFL Predictions: Unbeaten Carolina Panthers & Cincinnati Bengals Fall First

There are 6 unbeaten teams in the NFL, after Arizona lost to St. Louis. Who will be the next unbeaten to tarnish their perfect record? 2015 NFL Predictions see imminent peril in Cincinnati and Carolina. Dan Salem and Todd Salem debate in today’s NFL Sports Debate. Check out more of the brothers in Seesaw Sports Debate on BuzzChomp. Two brothers from New York yell, scream, and debate sports.

TODD:

We are through the first quarter of the NFL season, now fully immersed in bye week hell. Four teams are off Week 5, including the currently undefeated Carolina Panthers. Last week, we tried to deduce who would be the last unblemished team this season, settling on New England and Atlanta respectively. With another game in the books (outside of the Patriots, who had a Week 4 bye), has anything changed?

The Arizona Cardinals surprisingly lost to division-rival St. Louis, removing them from competition. That leaves us with six undefeated teams: New England, Atlanta, Carolina, the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers.

Atlanta had the best outcome of anyone last week, absolutely dominating an opponent for the first time all season. I still don’t feel as though this is an elite ball club, but the schedule seems to be opening up for them. Outside of a road game at New Orleans, none of its next half-dozen games seem all that difficult.

Perhaps we should change this up. Who is the next unbeaten to fall?

New England may fail to cover at Dallas, but I don’t see it losing outright in that one or in any of the next few weeks. I suppose Cincinnati is the safest bet. The Bengals play Seattle, Buffalo and Pittsburgh the next three weeks. Is there any way they make it out of that gauntlet unscathed?

If that doesn’t come to fruition, something has to give the first of November when the Broncos play the Packers. I would settle on Green Bay winning there just because I still haven’t gotten over how badly Denver has played on offense for much of this season.

DAN:

The Cowboys will need some luck to take down the undefeated Patriots this week. Cincinnati isn’t losing either, playing at home against a hobbled Seattle offense. Atlanta and Denver should also take care of business against weaker competition, but I’m not counting out the upset of St. Louis over Green Bay.

So which team is the next to fall? Two undefeated teams will fall in week 6, as all of them sweep this Sunday’s action. Both the Panthers and Bengals lose on the road.

Cincinnati must travel to Buffalo in week 6, and they are not leaving with a victory. The Bills have looked like a playoff team for most the season, and should easily play up to their competition at home. This will be a battle, but home field advantage proves too much for the Bengals.

The same fate will befall the Panthers, as they lose to the Seahawks up in Seattle. Carolina is a damn good football team, but Seattle is desperate to close the gap in their division. At home, in another must win situation, the Seahawks get it done. The Panthers won’t be able to muster up enough offense to win this game.

Six undefeated teams enter week 6, after sweeping the week 5 action, but only four leave with perfection still in hand.
