NFL Predictions Week 10: Best Picks Against the Spread (ATS)

Top NFL teams made statements last week, and week 10 is all about separation. Take the winners and give up the points. Your Best Picks Against the Spread (ATS) for NFL Predictions Week 10. TODD:

Week 9 was a statement week for a lot of teams around the league. Cincinnati and New England proved they are the cream of the crop; Carolina proved it might be the NFC’s best; Minnesota proved it’s for real; Atlanta proved it’s not. If Week 9 was statement weekend, Week 10 is separation weekend. Let’s start right there with a couple of the NFL’s best separating themselves from the pack.

New England Patriots -7 at New York Giants
Carolina Panthers -4.5 at Tennessee Titans

The Patriots are arguably the league’s best team. Though running back Dion Lewis is now out for the season with a torn ACL, the offense is also one of the best in the sport. This should remain the case and will be on full display against a porous Giants defense.

New York can’t pressure the quarterback. Another week with Jason Pierre-Paul getting into game shape will help alleviate that, but it won’t be enough against New England. It would be a huge surprise if the Pats failed to top 30 points in this one. The Giants own offense is good, but it may be hard to keep pace and stay within a touchdown.

Atop the NFC, the Carolina Panthers have the penthouse to themselves now. And for the first time all season, it feels legitimate. Maybe this is the exact time Carolina falters, when people start believing in them, but this line seems much too low for how well the team is playing. This is especially true considering the Titans are an unbelievable 0-4 at home on the season.

DAN:

You should get hired by NFL marketing with monikers that catchy. Coming in week 10, separation. Facts are facts, however, and this weekend’s matchups will fully divide the league. The most interesting story is how long the three undefeated teams can keep it going. I can’t argue with your logic, taking two of them against weaker defenses. Yet the Broncos fell in week 9, burning me in the process. I’m going offense as well this week, hedging my bets on who separates from who.

New Orleans Saints -1 at Washington Redskins
Arizona Cardinals +3 at Seattle Seahawks

More from NFL Spin Zone

The New Orleans Saints have been scoring points in buckets of late, yet still managed to lose in overtime last week. The defense is pretty awful, but New Orleans has more firepower than Washington can handle. Drew Brees will win this game for his team, and giving up a single point is any easy decision.

Washington finds itself on the outside of the playoff picture, after losing to New Orleans at home. They are playing for their season, but its the Saints who score last, in another pass happy affair.

In my other matchup its the Seahawks who ultimately concede their season. Another loss puts them way behind in the playoff picture, and the Cardinals are looking to put a stranglehold on the NFC West with a victory. Arizona is flat-out a better football team, and desperation won’t be enough to solve Seattle’s issues protecting its star quarterback. Let the sacks continue to rain down upon Russell Wilson. His team is in for a long day.

Arizona can hold Seattle in check, scoring more than enough to secure a victory. Getting three points is like a gift from the gambling gods. Sure its a road game for the Cardinals, but take the field goal straight to the bank.
