The New York Jets ran wild over their former coach, beating the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football in Week 2

The New York Jets dominated on offense and didn’t let the Bills into the red zone until late in the fourth quarter, on their way to a 37-31 AFC East victory.

The story of the night was Ryan Fitzpatrick. Entering the night 1-8 against Rex Ryan’s defenses, he came up big. The “Fitzmagic” was back on this night, as he threw for 374 yards and one touchdown. He also got his playmakers involved, with both Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker going over 100 yards and Quincy Enunwa close behind with 92.

Matt Forte was huge, showing Jets’ fans his health is just fine, rushing for 100 yards and his first three touchdowns as a member of the team. The offense, as a whole, did what they wanted against the Ryan brothers, putting up 493 yards of total offense.

More from Buffalo Bills

The Bills fought hard to stay in it, scoring once on defense and on two big plays down field, but it was not enough as the Jets made all of the plays they had to make to nail down the win.

Three Stars

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets — It was a near-perfect night for Ryan, going 24-34 for 374 yards and one touchdown. He finally figured out how to beat Rex Ryan.

Brandon Marshall, Jets — Any of the Jets’ top receivers could have taken this honor, but I give it to Marshall for his toughness. He fought back from a bad-looking knee injury to catch six passes for 101 yards.

Matt Forte, Jets — Forte put in another strong night, with 100 yards on the ground on 30 carries, adding three touchdowns, his first with the Jets. He continues to make the Jets’ faithful forget about Chris Ivory.
