New York Jets: Week 1 Report Card vs. Bills
Defense
As mentioned earlier, the Jets had to make sure that McCoy and Taylor were contained and were not the difference in the game and that simply did not happen. “Shady” rambled for a game-high 110 yards on 22 carries and added five receptions for 49 yards.

The fleet-footed Taylor chipped in with 38 rushing yards and was pretty effective from the pocket. He completed 16-of-28 passes for 224 yards, two touchdowns and one pick (a 48-yard interception return by Juston Burris). Those two dynamic players make the Bills go and New York had no answer for them.
Gang Green allowed 408 yards from scrimmage, including 190 on the ground, which is way too many. They registered just two sacks and allowed Buffalo to covert eight of 17 third down opportunities. The Jets also gave up 23 first downs, more than double their total (11). You don’t win games that way.
On a positive note, linebacker Demario Davis was all over the field and showed excellent quickness to the football. He recorded a game-high 14 tackles, including eight of the solo variety. He added a half sack and a QB hit as well. Darron Lee was very active too (10 tackles, one sack) and rookie safties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye had solid debuts (a combined 12 tackles). Adams can fly to the ball and has great pursuit. Leonard Williams and Kony Ealy were not factors (four tackles each).
