3. The Jets will pound the rock successfully

There’s no doubt about it, the Jets missed Bilal Powell last week against the Patriots. The team didn’t rush for 100 yards against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL in 2017, and no one had more than 22 yards.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Miami’s defense is fourth in the NFL in rush yards per game allowed. They have allowed 80.4 rush yards per game in 2017, and they have only allowed two teams to rush for 100 yards. To add to that amazing stat, they have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher in 2017.

The Jets will need Powell and Elijah McGuire to be successful to win this game, and they will. The aforementioned anger will spill over from Week 6, from both McGuire and Powell. Even though this run defense isn’t as bad as the Jaguars is, the Dolphins will have their worst performance of the year, and both running backs for the Jets will find the end zone and rack up at least 150 yards combined.

New York’s defense needs to force Cutler to pass a lot in this game, and the best way to do that is to consistently attack the Dolphins on the ground. This is a statement game for Powell and McGuire, and they will make a profound one Sunday.
