3. Dominant on defensive line

All the talk this season was how the defensive line wasn’t getting to the quarterback. However, as Tony Romo pointed out during the broadcast, the defensive linemen are constantly getting double-teamed, and it’s the linebackers’ job to get home in that case.

With that said, the defensive line dominated the Bills offensive line in this game. The line combined for three sacks, two tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, and one pass defended. The Bills had come into the game averaging 3.8 yards per carry on the season. They had 2.9 yards per carry against the Jets.

The demise of Muhammad Wilkerson was also greatly exaggerated early on in the season. He was consistently getting double teamed and playing hurt. Some even said he shouldn’t play against the Bills on a short week. He had three tackles, one sack and a pass defended.

You can say a lot about the previous performances by this defensive line, but they’re starting to show what they are capable of. On a night where they were missing their best cornerback, the defensive line stepped up their game to help out. Their performance was against one of the best offensive lines in football. So, that should give them confidence moving forward.
