Round 1: Arden Key, EDGE, LSU

The good thing about Los Angeles making a push for the AFC West crown, is that they are dropping fast in the 2018 NFL Draft order. While it would be nice for them to have a top-ten pick this upcoming offseason, seeing the Bolts in the playoffs would be even better. I believe we can all agree upon that.

Thus, with the Chargers falling to the bottom-half of the draft order, I believe they’ll still be in great shape to add to their talented edge rusher core. Los Angeles football fans, meet Arden Key from Louisiana State University.

Take a look at some of Key’s accomplishments at LSU, courtesy of the Tigers athletics website:

"2016 First Team All-SEC (AP) 2016 Second Team All-SEC (Coaches)  2015 Freshman All-America (ESPN.com, 247Sports) 2015 SEC All-Freshman Team (Coaches)"

At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Key would bring more size to a Chargers defense that’s begun to turn the page in 2017. He’s the type of player who can do a great job in pass coverage, while setting the edge in the run game.

Key is someone who Los Angeles could use down the stretch of this current season; however, they’ll have to wait for a few more months to bring him to the west coast.
