3. It Was C.J. Anderson’s Night

Think about this, the Broncos are 5-0 when C.J. Anderson gets 20 or more carries in a game. He has four games this season with less than ten carries. The Broncos seem to abandon the run immediately when they are playing from behind. This hurts the offense’s ability to move the chains and puts too much on the quarterback’s shoulders.

This was Anderson’s night to shine as he posted his best game of the season with 158 rushing yards on 30 carries. This was his second 100-yard game of the season. His last 100-yard game was in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Broncos wouldn’t have been able to win this game if it wasn’t for Anderson being able to churn out the tough yards on the ground. Denver should have been giving him the rock more this season. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t have more 20 touch games. Even though the team was playing from behind in most of their contests, Anderson still could have made an impact in those games if he received more touches.

His usage for the rest of the season is going to be very interesting. Will the team continue to abandon the run or will they become fully aware that they have to run the ball in order to compete in games. Denver has one of the best defenses in the league, and the longer the offense can hold onto the ball, the better it is for their top-notch defense.
