3. Don’t abandon the run

One critical mistake the Saints made was abandoning the run against the Vikings. Some of it has to do with the Saints getting used to having three backs on the field. Since they shipped Adrian Peterson off to Arizona though, Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara have been wonderful. This week, they will need to truly prove themselves.

Looking back at Week 1, Mark Ingram barely ran the ball. He rushed only six times for 17 yards and was a bigger threat as a pass-catcher. As for Kamara, he had similar stats with seven rushes for 18 yards and was a bigger passer threat, too. This week, they look to turn the tables and show why they’re called boom and zoom.

While the Vikings are still playing as dominantly, the Saints have a completely different set of running backs. Kamara is a dual-threat who has returned kickoffs for touchdowns and Ingram has been able to bust up the gut of the D-line. Working in tandem, Boom and Zoom will bring a new level of speed, skill and play than the Vikings have seen.

Abandoning the run isn’t an option this week, either. The Saints are relying so heavily on their rushing attack and they can’t give up now. It might take a few tries, but the Vikings will have a hard time, trying to stop Kamara and Ingram.
