5. A complement to Odell Beckham, Jr.

The Giants have a No. 1 guy at wide receiver. His name is Odell Beckham Jr. They will have to find a No. 2 guy so he can’t be the one guy defenses need to stop on a regular basis.

The 2018 NFL Draft is loaded at receiver, and the Giants can look in the first three rounds to find one. They will have a lot of choices, especially given the fact they will be picking early in rounds. They could even use their No. 2 pick on one, if they feel as emboldened as the Jets did when they selected Keyshawn Johnson in 1996.

They need another weapon on the outside. Since they should be building through the draft, 2018 is the perfect year to begin that process.

4. The franchise quarterback

Let’s face it. There will be a huge chasm left when Eli Manning, the only quarterback in franchise history to play in two Super Bowls, leaves. They do need to find his replacement, eventually.

The Browns are picking number one, and they may not even select a quarterback. If that’s the case, the Giants will have the pick of the litter at quarterback. However, they could also wait until Round 2, especially if they feel a guy like Lamar Jackson could fall to them at No. 34.

It would be a bold move, but they should be thinking about their next quarterback in this draft. They may not land him, because they have other needs to fill, but it has to be a consideration.
