Houston Texans: Post-Combine 7-round 2018 mock draft
The Houston Texans have obvious needs across their entire offensive line. If they do not figure their situation up front out this offseason, Deshaun Watson is going to be running for his life next season. Protecting Watson will be of utmost performance going forward and the Texans must make significant additions on the offensive line in order for that to happen.
They have cap space to improve their offensive line in free agency, but fixing their biggest need through the draft would obviously be preferred. If the Texans can find a rookie offensive lineman or two who can come in and immediately contribute at a high level, their immediate outlook will be much, much brighter.

With their first pick in this mock draft, the Houston Texans select TCU offensive tackle Joseph Noteboom.
Noteboom was a three-year starter at TCU, playing both left and right tackle at a high level. He is a long and athletic offensive line prospect who shows great ability as a pass protector. Noteboom’s natural footwork and technique at the position are top-notch and allows him to consistently compete against big-time speed on the edge.
Protecting the quarterback is what Noteboom does best, but he is also a solid run blocker who particularly shines when asked to reach the second level.
Noteboom does struggle against power both when protecting the quarterback and run blocking, but he does hold his own a majority of the time. He is not a perfect prospect, but Noteboom has plenty of upside as an offensive tackle on either side at the next level. Snagging Noteboom early in the third round gives the Texans a player who can immediately come in and compete at their biggest position of need.
