Round 1: Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

Though defense is a very high need for the Dallas Cowboys, the depth of the wide receivers on the roster is just too much to overlook if Calvin Ridley is on the board with the 19th overall selection. This would be a nice selection for the Cowboys at 19th overall, and it would give Dak Prescott a possible No. 1 wide receiver for the 2018 season.

As of right now, the top wide receivers on the roster are Terrance Williams, Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley, so the addition of a player like Ridley (6-1, 190 pounds) would be a nice upgrade to the depth chart from day one. At Alabama this past season, he played in 14 games, where he caught for 967 yards on 63 receptions and five touchdowns.

The Cowboys can’t be the only team interested in Ridley, as the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots both have hosted Ridley, so there is a possibility if the Cowboys want Ridley they’ll have to trade up to get him as the Bears have the eighth overall pick and are still building around their franchise quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Dallas can say the same about building around Prescott as they have a solid offensive line, a veteran tight end and one of the top running backs in the league, but they still need to build on at wide receiver, and Ridley would make them better at that spot from the time they call out his name.
