Green Bay Packers: 3 Big takeaways from Preseason Week 3
What’s up with the Offensive Line?
It would be an understatement if I told you that the offensive line had a rough night. The O-line was a sieve the entire night. Granted, none of the starters suited up, but what are the odds all five starting offensive linemen are healthy for all 16 games of a regular season plus the playoffs if applicable?
The offensive line gave up five sacks tonight. Add that on to the countless number of quarterback hits and hurries allowed. It was truly an ugly night to be a Green Bay Packers offensive lineman. The team is lucky that either Brett Hundley or DeShone Kizer did not get hurt.
Kyle Murphy and Jason Spriggs, two offensive tackles selected in the 2016 draft, have yet to really impress anyone. Tonight was no deviation from that course.
Luckily enough, the Packers have one of the most durable left tackles in David Bakhtiari. On the right side though, Bryan Bulaga has suffered numerous injuries over the years. Murphy and/or Spriggs will eventually have to sub in for Bulaga at some point.
Despite trailing 13-6 late in the fourth quarter, Kizer was leading an offensive charge until he got sacked on fourth down to seal the game. It was a fitting way to end a disastrous day for the offensive line.
The Packers have to find suitable backups for the O-line
