2. New York Jets: Nick Bosa, Ohio State, EDGE

The New York Jets didn’t waste any time getting their young quarterback on the field. Rather than start veteran Josh McCown, the Jets threw No. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold to the Lions. No really, they did. Just not the king of the jungle lions that term means, but rather to the Detroit Lions who have no actual bite to be afraid of.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Darnold was out there on Monday Night Football and of course, his first pass was picked off and taken back to the house. It was the only time the Lions defense attempted to play the rest of the night. Darnold and the Jets lit them up and it was ugly.

So how did they get this low in the power rankings to get the second pick — the rankings were released before the game. Still, the Jets would be thrilled to have this spot next year with Nick Bosa sitting on the board.

The Ohio State defensive end is impossible to play against and could actually be better than his big brother, Joey Bosa, who has been exceptional since coming into the NFL with the Chargers.

Nick already has three sacks in two games this season for the Buckeyes and could be the piece that makes the Jets defense elite once again. He’s in play for the No. 1 pick, but just loses out to Oliver here — however, you can’t go wrong with either player.
