Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) at New York Giants (2-3)

Thursday, October 11, 8:20PM ET

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming to town on Thursday night, and the New York Giants will be ready for them. It’s surprising that, through five games, the defending champs don’t look any more impressive than their NFC East rivals.

That’s why I’m going with the Giants to win this divisional tilt. Neither team seems to have much of an edge heading into this game on a short week, but my gut is telling me the G-Men will be more than prepared for their underwhelming divisional counterparts.

Don’t worry, though — I’m not just going off of gut feelings in this one.

Now you may be saying that the Eagles really haven’t been that bad. They’ve kept things close throughout the season, but just haven’t been able to seal the deal at the end. You’d be right in that assertion, but you could also say the same about the Giants. They nearly unseated the Carolina Panthers last weekend, putting on an offensive clinic in the process.

It’s that passing offense of the Giants that’s convinced me they can win this one. Odell Beckham Jr., Saquon Barkley and Eli Manning will air it against the Eagles’ lethargic pass defense, putting up just enough points to improve to .500 on the year.

Prediction: Giants win 24-20
