Seattle Seahawks: Doug Baldwin, standouts from Week 6 vs. Raiders
By Samuel Teets
Doug Baldwin
Baldwin hasn’t been himself since he was injured in Week 1. He missed Weeks 2 and 3 before recording a combined six catches for 42 yards in Weeks 4 and 5. But the two-time Pro Bowler returned to form against Oakland. The eighth-year pro recorded six receptions for 91 yards. And he did all that on just eight targets.

In his absence, Tyler Lockett filled in as the team’s primary receiver and proved he was capable of carrying the load. Lockett was actually responsible for one of Russell Wilson‘s three passing touchdowns on Sunday and Baldwin wasn’t. Baldwin still doesn’t have a touchdown this season, but that will change in the coming weeks as long as he remains healthy.
Baldwin joined the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent back in 2011, one year before Wilson was drafted. Over the course of his career Baldwin has been his quarterback’s favorite and most often target. His season numbers will be lower this year because of his injuries, but Baldwin has averaged 82 receptions, just over 1,000 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns over the course of the last three seasons.
There’s a reason why he’s one of the best receivers in the league.
