3. DeVante Parker, Wide Receiver, Miami Dolphins

Dallas has had some luck in recent seasons getting decent production out of players with high upside that may not have worked out elsewhere. One example is Jonathan Cooper. Sure, the former first-round pick has never been great, but he gave the Cowboys a starter in 2017 for a minimal investment.

They’ve also tried the same approach with players like Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris, Tavon Austin, and Terrell McClain. While not all have worked out long-term, it does help them to get some talent on the field.

Take Austin for example. For the Rams, he was a bust as they invested a first-round pick on him. For Dallas, he was a sensational athlete that could run past defenders before being sidelined with a groin injury this season and all he cost them was a sixth-round pick.

Here they again could look to buy low on a player with a high ceiling in DeVante Parker of the Miami Dolphins. Currently, he’s been dealing with a couple injuries and has had pretty much no impact on the Miami offense. That has led to him being the subject of many trade rumors.

For Dallas, he could come in at a cheap price and would afford a player who many thought could be special coming out of Louisville in 2016. At just 25 years old, Parker has many years left in the tank. He’s also shown plenty of flashes for the Dolphins. In 2016 he had 744 yards off 56 receptions and another 670 yards off 57 receptions in 2017.

That’s much better than what any current Cowboy is on pace for. Definitely worth the risk here.
