Most Underrated: David Bakhtiari, Left Tackle

David Bakhtiari continues to be not only one of the most underrated players on the Green Bay Packers roster, but for the entire league. With everyone’s focus on the “skill” positions, everyone forgets about maybe the most important part of the offense, the offensive line.

Year in and year out, Bakhtiari ranks as one of the best linemen in the NFL, but his job goes almost unnoticed. He maybe has the most difficult job in football; protecting Aaron Rodgers. He has been trusted to protect the franchise for a long time and has done it successfully for a long time.

With Aaron Rodgers not at 100 percent with his knee injury, Bakhtiari’s job has become considerably more important. But he has been able to do it at an elite level even with the added pressure of protecting an already injured Rodgers.

He has to protect the blind side of Aaron Rodgers. It cannot be stated enough how much of an important job it is. He has been trusted since his arrival in 2013. He has been trusted to protect the franchise for a long time and has done it successfully for a long time. With Aaron Rodgers not at 100 percent with his knee injury, Bakhtiari’s job has become considerably more important.

One of the best things about him, he has been able to stay healthy. Since his rookie season, he has only missed four games. For an offensive lineman, that is quite the feat. Despite offensive linemen being the most physical and being the most prone to injury, it hasn’t affected Bakhtiari at all.

He is the most underrated Packer of the first half of the season and likely will be as long as he is the left tackle for the Green Bay Packers.
