San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks: 3 Bold predictions for Week 13
By Samuel Teets
The 49ers will hold the Seahawks below 100 rushing yards
The Seahawks, who are leading the league in rushing yards per game, were held below 100 rushing yards last week. I’m predicting the 49ers will make it two weeks in a row. This might seem a little out of left field since the 49ers aren’t exactly known for their defense right now, but they’re actually the tenth best run defense and the eleventh best overall defense in the NFL.

It all starts up front with DeForest Buckner, the 49ers starting defensive tackle. The third-year pro has 39 tackles this year along with seven sacks. Did I mention he’s 6-7 and 300 pounds? The 49ers also have defensive end, Arik Armstead who is also 6-7. It could be argued that both of these linemen are having the best seasons of their young careers, but they aren’t the only reason why the run defense is so good.
Rookie third-round pick at middle linebacker Fred Warner is leading the team in tackles with 84. He’s been fantastic and has turned out great for a third-round selection. I don’t know if the team could ask for anything more out of him this year.
While I’m not going to compare him to Luke Kuechly, Warner has the range to move around the field and make big plays in the run game. We saw how Kuechly used those same abilities to shutdown the Seahawks run game last week. Then again, Kuechly is on a whole different level.
