31. Oakland Raiders (30)

The Oakland Raiders drop down a peg and should be the worst team in the NFL considering they lost to the 49ers earlier in the season. That means the Raiders have the inside track on the No. 1 overall pick, but the power rankings work a little different.

This is about more than just standings and it’s hard to put the Raiders behind San Francisco considering how bad the Niners were blown out against Seattle compared to the way Oakland hung with the Chiefs.

Facing the team with the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Raiders fell behind quickly, but then did all they could to get back in the game. Derek Carr threw three touchdowns and both Jordy Nelson and Jared Cook had huge games receiving. They put up 17 points in the final quarter and got it as close as 33-30.

Kansas City ended up scoring on the next drive, and Oakland added one more field goal to make it a seven-point game. The loss counts the same and they fell to 2-10, but they really should be proud of themselves for how they played in this one. As for the rest of the season, pride probably isn’t the word to describe things.
