After Kamu Grugier-Hill of the Eagles said the Dallas Cowboys always choke, Dak Prescott dropped the mic, which is a welcome change in Big D.

Dak Prescott is confident if nothing else. It’s one of the biggest reasons everyone on the Dallas Cowboys believes in the third year quarterback. And leading up to a huge Week 14 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, he once again showed that confidence.

On Wednesday, Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill insinuated that Philly isn’t worried about Dallas since they “always choke.” He claimed that their history shows that, which bears some truth if you ignore the past two seasons.

Dallas is actually 6-3 in December in 2016 and 2017, with one of those losses coming at the end of their 13-3 season when they rested their starters against Philadelphia.

Rather than pointing out that the poor December records came from a previous regime, Prescott decided to drop the mic on the linebacker.

After initially asking who the linebacker was (a question many Dallas fans also asked), Prescott then explained why he isn’t worried about the comment.

"“You know, coach (Jason) Garrett has a great saying, and I don’t know where he got it from, but winners worry about winning and losers worry about winners,” Prescott said via Davin Moore of the Dallas Morning News. “We’re focused on ourselves in this locker room about what we need to do to get better in each and every phase of this game to be ready for this week.”"

Hearing a team leader opening up like this and not being afraid it will give their opponents bulletin board material is a welcome change to a team that has been rather subdued in season’s past. It’s also not the first time we have seen this team unafraid to speak up.

Ahead of Week 13, Prescott said the Cowboys weren’t afraid of the 10-1 New Orleans Saints. DeMarcus Lawrence also came out and had some choice words for New Orleans.

No one gave them a chance and thought the words from Lawrence would come back to haunt Dallas. That wasn’t the case as they backed up the talk and ended a 10-game winning streak for the Saints.

So yes, it was a bold statement from Prescott and many will point to the fact that the Eagles are defending champions. However, the young quarterback showed he’s not afraid of them, just like he wasn’t scared of New Orleans.

Now it’s time to see if he and the team can back it up one more time. If so, there’s a good chance they will win the NFC East and potentially put that choke theory to rest.
