Green Bay Packers: 7-Round 2019 mock draft in late December
By Randy Gurzi
Round 1: Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson
One position that’s been a thorn in the Packers side in recent years is the edge rusher spot. Clay Matthews has been their most consistent rusher, but it appears his time with the team may be coming to an end. If it does, they need to add someone to replace him.

If his time doesn’t come to an end, they need to add someone to replace him — or at least compliment him while Nick Perry is out injured. The player they add is Clelin Ferrell, the best edge rusher on the talent Clemson defensive line.
Ferrell may not be an ideal fit for a 3-4 defense, but he does have the skill to get the job done. On top of that, there’s no guarantee the team will stick with that defense once they get a new coach.
In four seasons, Ferrell has 158 tackles and 26 sacks. All but one tackle has come over the past three seasons as Ferrell saw the field for one game in 2015, which went down as a redshirt freshman year. He should have no problem turning those numbers into a successful NFL career as he’s one of the best prospects on the defensive line in this class.
