Arizona could trade the pick for roster depth

The first option for the Cardinals would be to move down with a trade. Arizona could add roster depth with such a move. Teams looking for a quarterback might be willing to pay to move up.

It’s no secret that the Jacksonville Jaguars are looking for their franchise quarterback. The Jaguars are looking at ways to get under the salary cap. Arizona might be able to add depth to the defense in a trade with the Jaguars.

Arizona could use another cornerback to play opposite Patrick Peterson. A.J. Bouye would be the perfect guy to complement Peterson. Jalen Ramsey and Bouye teamed to form a ferocious tandem at the corners. Imagine Bouye and Peterson at the corners for the 2019 season, especially in the high flying NFC West.

Football Outsiders uses advanced analytics to rank teams in regards to their efficiency in every regard. Defensively, Arizona ranked eighth in pass defense in the 2018 season. In taking a closer look, opposing No. 2 receivers are having good days against the Cardinals.

Arizona ranks 23rd in covering the opposing second receiver. Bouye would definitely be an upgrade. His presence would help the pass rushers in their attempts to get to the quarterback.
