Washington Redskins: 3 Quarterbacks to target in the 2019 NFL Draft
By Randy Gurzi
3. Will Grier, West Virginia
With Washington drafting at No. 15 this year, they would likely have to move up to get someone like Dwayne Haskins of Drew Lock. With that being unlikely, they could decide to wait until day two to select a signal-caller. One potential fit that should be there in Round 2 is West Virginia’s Will Grier.

Originally enrolled at Florida, Grier transferred after a suspension in 2015 for a positive test for performance enhancers. Grier owned the mistake, saying he was unaware the substance he took was banned. He later announced he was transferring to West Virginia.
With the Mountaineers, he started the past two seasons and put up some impressive numbers. Grier completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 7,354 yards with 71 touchdowns against just 20 picks. However, he still entered this offseason as a player with a lot of questions about his pro potential. Those questions have increased with some inaccurate practices at the Senior Bowl, according to Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports.
Even with that being the case, Grier has enough solid film out there to intrigue plenty of NFL teams and the Redskins make a lot of sense. Like Smith, Grier is an efficient passer with very minimal turnovers. Allowing him to groom behind Smith could be very beneficial to him while giving the Redskins some options in the future.
