New York Jets: 7-Round 2019 mock draft at Super Bowl week
By Cory Kinnan
Round 3, Pick 4: Amari Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
The Jets defense surrendered the 24th most passing yards and finished in the bottom half in passing touchdowns surrendered in 2018. Pro Football Focus (subscription required) ranked Trumaine Johnson slightly above average while Morris Claiborne scored as average, leaving the New York secondary with plenty of room for upgrade.

And if the Cleveland Browns’ 2018 offseason tells you anything about the style of corners that Gregg Williams prefers, the Jets should be in the market for a physical, press corner; enter Penn State standout Amari Oruwariye.
Standing at a towering 6-1 and weighing in at 203 pounds, Oruwariye would provide a physical corner to play opposite of Johnson. The 22-year-old senior finished his career as a Nittany Lion with 106 tackles and eight interceptions, seven of them coming in his last two seasons. He also managed to add double digit passes defended, with 11 in his senior season.
With big name prospects such as Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy, Deandre Baker and Trayvon Mullen projected off of the board by the beginning of the third round, the Jets may get lucky enough to have Oruwariye slip to them.
However, if Oruwariye can test at an elite level at the combine, he could see his stock rise into the second, or possibly the late first round. As it stands, though, there is a real chance that the Penn State standout could be sitting on the board atop the third round.
