Round 1, Pick 4: Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson

Shortly after trading Mack to the Chicago Bears, Gruden, after an underwhelming defensive performance stated, “Great pass rushers are hard to find.” Near the top of the draft, he now has the chance to find one. Honestly, it would hard to miss on a group that consists of Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, Josh Allen and Clelin Ferrell. And if Bosa, Williams and Allen are gone, Ferrell should be the pick for Oakland.

Capping off his college career by dominating projected top-15 pick Jonah Williams in the National Championship Game victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ferrell finished with 11.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss in 2018. He finished his time at Clemson with 27 sacks and 50.5 tackles for loss. That sort of elite production is why the 6-5, 260-pound edge rusher is lumped together with the likes of Oliver, Bosa and Williams at the top of draft boards.

For a team that surrendered the most points in the league, and finished with only 13 sacks, Ferrell is a must need in Oakland (or wherever the Raiders end up playing). Barring an unforeseen issue, Ferrell looks like a top five lock, and he can only help his stock when he arrives for the Combine in Indianapolis.
