5. New York Jets

In the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Jets made their move to usher in a new era for Gang Green. The front office elected to trade up to the No. 3 overall pick in the draft to select quarterback Sam Darnold out of USC. Darnold had his ups and downs throughout his rookie season once he became the starter, but he undoubtedly showed enough to inspire optimism regarding his future with the Jets.

This will be an interesting season for Darnold and the Jets as there is now a new era underway in regards to the coaching staff. Todd Bowles was fired following a dismal overall 2018 season and Adam Gase is now the head coach. Furthermore, Dowell Loggains is taking over as offensive coordinator.

Regardless of what the coaching staff looks like, though, the Jets need to get more help around Darnold for him to have the best chance at proper development and, ultimately, success. Robby Anderson was their leading receiver in 2018 with just 752 yards and six touchdowns, but he’s also a restricted free agent this offseason. Even if they retain him and have him alongside Quincy Enunwa, there is no true No. 1 guy in that New York receiving corps.

Adding Antonio Brown would give the Jets that player and someone that could truly give the offense a shot of adrenaline. Darnold would have a weapon that would help him tremendously. What’s more, with the cap space that the Jets have this offseason, he would be an easy fit on their books. Thus, it just makes sense for Brown to be an option to land in the Big Apple.
