Round 1, Pick 4: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

In my first version of the Raiders’ 7-round mock, the team landed Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson. However, over the past few weeks, Ferrell has been generating a lot of buzz and could potentially land in the top three. Here, he does, allowing senior edge pass rusher out of Kentucky, Josh Allen, to fall into the hands of the Raiders.

More from NFL Spin Zone

The SEC Defensive Player of the Year and consensus First-Team All-American put up monster numbers during his senior season, and is looking to translate that success into the NFL.

He took a chance on himself and returned to the Wildcats for his senior season, and the results could not have been more positive for his draft stock as he appears to be a lock to become a top-five pick in the upcoming draft that is heavy on defensive lineman.

During his final season in Lexington, Allen posted a monster 17 sacks and set up a camp site in opposing team’s backfield with 21 tackles behind the line of scrimmage as well. Keep a close eye on Allen at the Combine to see what kind of speed, and strength, and athleticism is behind that large frame and great film. If he further proves that he has the tools physically to be an elite pass rusher, this could be a steal for the Raiders.
