Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars currently are over $2 million in the hole in terms of salary cap. However, the team is expected to part with pricey veterans Blake Bortles and Malik Jackson, which would give them a relief of about $15 million on their budget.

The Jaguars 2018 season was a mess, and that might be putting it lightly, ending with team president Tom Coughlin calling out running backs Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon. While Fournette’s roster spot is presumably safe, Jacksonville will be in the market for a change-of-pace back as it appears that Yeldon has no chance to return to the Jaguars after four years with the team.

While Coleman may be seeking a starting role on his next team, history has shown that the more carries he gets, the less productive he is, so for his sake, he may choose to remain a change-of-pace back in his next city as well. It would be hard to find a better situation than to be the lightning to Fournette’s thunder in Jacksonville for Coleman.

As the Jaguars look to clear cap space and reportedly pursue Nick Foles in free agency, Coleman would give the stagnant Jacksonville offence a receiving threat out of the backfield and whomever their next quarterback is another weapon to throw to.
