Round 1, Pick 21: Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State

It was hard to find a more likeable guy at the combine than Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner. While he is listed as a tackle, Risner has played everywhere on the offensive line for the Wildcats, and would transition better in the NFL as an interior lineman.

More from NFL Draft

At the combine, Risner tested in the 86th percentile in the 20-yard shuttle, showing he has a quick get off to gain a step on pass rushers. He also ranks in the 75th percentile or above in the measurements of height, wingspan, and hand size of all interior offensive lineman compared to only about the 50th percentile of all offensive tackles.

Good news for the Seahawks is that they need help on both the interior of their line of scrimmage and at right tackle. Expect Risner to be a plug-and-play offensive lineman from day one if taken by Seattle.

After handing out the franchise tag to edge rusher Frank Clark, the Seahawks should undoubtedly use their first round selection to bolster their offensive line. Franchise quarterback Russell Wilson has taken a beating in his career, and it is time for Seattle to do best by him and get him some protection up front.
