Pittsburgh Steelers: 7-Round 2019 mock draft after Antonio Brown trade
Round 1, Pick 20: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The 2019 draft’s cornerback class is a mixed bag of players with great tape and limited NFL caliber tools and players with terrific tools, but some troublesome spots on their tape. Greedy Williams undoubtedly falls into that latter category, and that makes him a frustrating prospect as a result. When you watch his gifts — speed, length, strength, technique and so on — at their best, he shows the potential to be a dynamic star at cornerback in the pros.

Having said that, there are legitimate times when it seems as though Williams is just taking plays off, even when he shouldn’t. His inconsistent commitment on the field is wholly worrisome, but as he falls in to the back-half of the first round, his talent is far too obvious for a cornerback-starving team like Pittsburgh to let him fall past them. Thus, they take the gamble and hope they can instill the Steel City mentality in him.
Round 2, Pick 52: Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri
The Steelers waited until after the first round in this mock draft to address the now scarcely filled wide receiver room, but they can’t pass up Emanuel Hall out of Missouri with the 52nd overall pick. While JuJu Smith-Schuster has proven to be a do-it-all type of player that can win with his size and route-running ability, he does not have a big-time speed threat to his game. Thus, adding Hall next to him makes almost too much sense.
While the former Mizzou wideout has had his issues with drops throughout his collegiate career, the long-framed pass-catcher has speed and traits for days that you have to love as a receiver. He’s not going to replace Antonio Brown by any stretch, but he can help round out the receiving corps with another big body alongside Smith-Schuster, but one that offers a different skill-set as a vertical threat.
