3. NT Danny Shelton (New England Patriots)

He remains one of the better run stoppers in the league at his position, ut veteran defensive tackle Domata Peko will be 35 years old in November and has a lot of mileage on his body after 13 seasons in the league with both the Cincinnati Bengals (11) and Denver Broncos (2). And the latter has already decided they will not re-sign the longtime interior presence after Peko made 30 starts for the club the past two years.

It goes without saying that both new head coach Vic Fangio and defensive coordinator Ed Donatell will looking to not only add a little youth to the position but find a performer a little more acclimated to their defensive style. Massive nose tackle Danny Shelton was a member of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots roster in 2018. The 6-2, 345-pound performer could be groomed into the team’s man up the middle for the next few years.

A first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2015, he was dealt to the Pats last offseason and is now very available. He played in 13 regular-season contests for Bill Belichick’s club this past season but made only one start. A starter in the AFC Divisional Playoffs clash with the Los Angeles Chargers, he would also play in Super Bowl LIII and total two tackles.

Shelton could be an economical addition with very little risk.
