How Chicago Bears should proceed for rest of 2019 offseason
3. Figure out the Jordan Howard situation
The Bears have been very noncommittal to Jordan Howard over the last year or so, and it showed under Matt Nagy that they will likely be looking to move to a different style of running back.

However, it’s really difficult to get a player that’s been as productive as Howard for as little money as the team has been paying him. After adding Mike Davis in free agency, could they consider trading Howard while he has some value, rather than letting him walk for nothing next offseason?
In his three-year career, Howard has only missed one game, and he has played effectively when he’s been on the field. He has a career average of 4.3 yards per carry, but the team has never seemed to go all in to let him be the workhorse back.
If he hadn’t received his lowest number of carries in his career this past season at just 250, he likely would have ended up with his third straight 1,000-yard season to start his career.
Nagy is likely looking for a running back that is more of a combo running back similar to the way Kareem Hunt played during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. Davis is somewhat of a player like that, and they could look to give him that opportunity to be the guy that he never really got with the Seattle Seahawks.
Whoever they decide to go with, either free Howard to a better situation or let him be the guy that he can be.
