Round 1, Pick 3: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

While uncertainty remains as to whether or not the Jets will keep the third pick in the draft, but in this mock draft, trades do not exist and the Jets stick with the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and potential elite pass rusher Josh Allen from Kentucky.

More from NFL Spin Zone

He has been a top-three prospect since the end of the 2018 season, and not much changes here after his performance at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine pretty much confirmed everything that draft scouts have thought from the beginning.

Allen put on a show in Indianapolis, running a 4.63-second 40 yard dash, ranking him in the 90th percentile of his class. He went on to rank in the 88th percentile in the 20 yard shuttles, and the 83rd percentile in the bench press with 28 reps. The productive edge rusher has athleticism to go along with his production and tape, making him what looks to be a top-five lock, and nearly a top-three lock.

With Jordan Jenkins leading the Jets in sacks a year ago, some added pass rush is a gigantic priority in New York. Allen has made sense from the beginning of the offseason, and he continues to make sense with just about a month to go until the 2019 NFL Draft.
