Noah Fant is taken at the 10th spot in the first round as the Cardinals receiver the Broncos’ pick. Fant opened eyes at the NFL Combine this Spring. He ran a very fast 40-yard dash, posting a 4.5 second attempt. Fant appears to be a perfect type of tight end for Kingsbury’s air raid style of offense
At Iowa, he caught 78 passes for 1,083 yards with 19 touchdowns through three seasons. He will be able to stretch opposing secondaries vertically. At 6-4, 249 pounds, he will force opposing defensive coordinators to gameplay for him.
Adding Fant will give Arizona the deep threat on seam routes that they sorely lacked in 2018. Larry Fitzgerald, the ageless one, should be free to run routes across the middle. Fant could play the Gronk-style of motion tight end, which helps David Johnson and the running game.
Arizona will probably get another draft pick in this deal with Denver. Let’s say that they get Denver’s second round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This trade is a win-win for both teams. Arizona adds another offensive weapon for Kingsbury to implement into the air raid offense.
