2. TE Levine Toilolo (Detroit Lions)

Regardless of the reasons, the Buffalo Bills did not get a lot of production from the tight end position this past season. And when it was all said and done, veteran Charles Clay played in 13 games and made 12 starts. It was the fourth time in as many years with the organization that he appeared in that many contests. But after totaling 51, 57 and 49 receptions, respectively, in his first three years with the club. the eight-year pro managed only 21 catches, finished with a career-low 188 receiving yards and failed to reach the end zone at all.

During free agency, general manager Brandon Beane did add talented tight end Tyler Kroft. The former member of the Cincinnati Bengals spent four seasons in the Queen City and totaled just 67 receptions for 661 yards and eight scores. And he was limited to only five contests in 2018 due to a foot injury.

But the previous year, the 6-6, 252-pound performer was a 16-game starters and finished with 42 catches, good for 404 yards and seven touchdowns. The Bills also added one-time tackle/turned tight end Jake Fisher, another former member of the Bengals.

Once a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Levine Toilolo spent this past season with the Detroit Lions. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), he grades out as the league’s best pass-blocking tight end. That certainly would be music to the ears of quarterback Josh Allen, who took a licking this past season but kept on running downfield — and much of that not by design. Toilolo also caught 21 passes for 263 yards and one score in 2018.
