Muhammad Wilkerson

A former first round pick of the New York Jets back in 2011 and one-time Pro Bowler is still on the open market after seven seasons with the Jets and one with the Green Bay Packers. He may be the best option left in free agency to add depth to the defensive front in Cleveland.

Last year he played only three games and did not tally a single sack, tackle for loss, or hit on the quarterback. He does, however, have two double-digit sack seasons in 2013 and 2015. Throughout his career Wilkerson has tallied 44.5 total sacks and 71 tackles for loss.

While he has had a few down seasons and has been known to be a headache in the locker room, this is the situation that the Browns now find themselves in. Wilkerson would come in and be the best reserve defensive lineman in Cleveland on day-one, but again, that is not saying much.

The cost for Wilkerson is unknown, but considering he is coming off an injury and is still on the market, he could be had for cheap.

However, that may be the reason he is still on the market — because he wants money. The Browns have over $32 million in cap and money is not a concern until after 2019.
