Baltimore Ravens – Over/Under Line: 8

The Baltimore Ravens have all the makings of a sleeper. Because they have a new-look defense, they are a team that people may expect to drop off on that side of the ball. But when you look at their talent, they should continue to be strong in that regard. Then, when you look at Lamar Jackson and the offense, there may be some more concern about how effective he is as a passer in year two.

However, the truth of the matter is that the passing game may not matter that much. With Jackson’s ability to run, this has the potential to be a devastating rushing attack. And when you supplement that with a strong defense, the Ravens appear to be in position to compete for a playoff spot out of the AFC, which means they’ll be above .500 and hit the over.

Pick: Over

Buffalo Bills – Over/Under Line: 7.5

In the simplest terms, the Buffalo Bills are a mediocre football team. They have an underrated and quite good defense but they just appear to be a group that has a defined ceiling at this point, which really comes down to their offense. Josh Allen showed promise as a rookie but also showed that there is plenty of room to grow and I’m not sure he’s in a position to do that right now.

Though Buffalo made some moves to give Allen more weapons, none of them feel all that impactful. Additionally, this feels like a team that, because of their defined ceiling, could take a big fall should any bad injury luck hit them. When you then factor in that they play a tough schedule in 2019, I’m going to take the under. Sorry, Bills Mafia.
