5. Davante Adams, WR

Receiver Davante Adams was un-guardable in the Packers’ Week 2 win over the Vikings, as he racked up seven catches for 106 yards on nine targets. Adams was open early and often, as the first play from scrimmage was a 39-yard catch along the right sideline.

Adams spent a lot his time in the slot in order to avoid Vikings’ cornerback Xavier Rhodes. In the end, it didn’t matter. Adams got the better of Rhodes in this matchup, particularly when it came to route-running. On one particular play, Rhodes had to hold Adams’ jersey to prevent a long touchdown pass.

Adams didn’t score a touchdown in this game, but he didn’t need to. His impact was felt throughout, as he drew coverage that took away from other packers’ receivers, while also reeling in some big catches. Adams did have one drop down the left sideline with 6:03 remaining in the second quarter, but it was excellent coverage by safety Harrison Smith.

Adams has yet to score a touchdown this season, but he’s proven to be the Packers’ best option in the passing game so far. He may need to continue to carry the load unless someone like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison or Jimmy Graham steps up.
