3. Tom Brady will have his best week yet

The first bold prediction for the New England Patriots as they go into the Week 3 showdown against the New York Jets this weekend is that veteran quarterback and future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady will have his best performance of the year yet.

Coming into the contest against the divisional rival in the Jets, Brady has had a stellar start to the 2019 campaign in his 20th season in the NFL.

Through two games so far this year, the 42-year old quarterback has recorded a total of 605 passing yards through the air along with five touchdowns and no interceptions. While averaging 9.5 yards per pass attempt, Brady holds a quarterback rating of 124.8 while converting on nearly 70 percent of his pass attempts.

In the regular-season opener against the Steelers in Foxborough, the veteran quarterback stepped up once again in a primetime game to lead New England to a 33-3 win over Pittsburgh. While completing 24 of his 36 pass attempts, Brady finished with a season-best 341 yards passing with three touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 124.9.

In the Week 2 blowout victory over Miami, a game which New England won by a wide margin of 43-0, Brady ended the game going 20-for-28 with 264 yards and two touchdowns, recording a quarterback rating of 124.7. He also rushed for one touchdown on the ground.

One reason why Sunday’s game is setting up to be another breakout game for Brady is that the Jets defense has somewhat struggled through two weeks, ranking 23rd in the league in passing yards given up to opponents per contest. Entering Week 3, New York has given up an average of 273.5 yards through the air per game, also ranking 14th in the league while giving up an average of 20 points a game.

Brady is already off to a hot start to the regular-season schedule through two weeks, and that won’t slow down for the veteran quarterback in the Week 3 matchup against New York in Foxborough.
