5. Mahomes notches second 400-yard, third three-score game

If there’s one thing that you can take away from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense through their impressive two-game start to the 2019 season, it’s that they haven’t been tested. Though Jacksonville’s defense has stars, that team was a bit out of sorts after the Nick Foles injury. And even if they were playing well, you could still argue that the Ravens have a better and more consistent defense.

Thus, this could go down as the first test that Mahomes and Kansas City’s high-octane attack will face on the 2019 season. Furthermore, the reigning NFL MVP will have to go at it without Tyreek Hill again but also without running back Damien Williams and perhaps without LeSean McCoy as well.

It still won’t matter.

Mahomes is operating on another plane of existence right now when it comes to playing quarterback in the NFL. With Andy Reid pulling the strings, I maintain that there isn’t a defense in the league that can fully stop him. On top of that, he’s primed to answer the call when faced with a challenge, which he will against the Ravens on Sunday.

Last week against Oakland, Mahomes threw for 443 yards after throwing for 378 the week before. Furthermore, he has at least three touchdowns in each of his first two games. My money is on him going for 400 yards again on Sunday against Baltimore while keeping up his three-touchdown streak, cementing himself as the best quarterback in the NFL right now.
