3. Demario Davis

Injuries weren’t just limited to the offense as the defense sustained one as well. Most recently, the team put linebacker Alex Anzalone on IR but the team also kept out A.J. Klein for most of the game before he eventually returned.

Defensively, the Saints were the bright spot for the game as they were able to make plays. Even though Cameron Jordan’s fumble was ruled dead, it would have been impressive if it would’ve counted.

As annoying as that was, it’s time to look forward to Week 3. The key to winning against the Seahawks is not allowing Russell Wilson more time to think or to scramble. Wilson absolutely shredded the Steelers defense and finished the game with 300 yards passing along with three touchdowns.

The Saints defense needs to ensure that the same thing doesn’t happen to them. That’s why the Saints need Demario Davis to step up in Week 3. He was one of the few bright spots against the Rams.

Against the Seahawks, Davis needs to make sure that he gets pressure on Wilson and beats their offensive line. As their O-line is pretty young, it shouldn’t be tough for a veteran guy like Davis.

Without Anzalone or possibly Klein, Davis has to be their guy. Currently, he’s finished each game with five combined tackles and if he can keep up that pace, then the Saints might be relying on their defense to win games.
