3. Xavier Su’a-Filo, Dallas Cowboys

Now that Travis Frederick is back in the fold, it’s safe to say that the Dallas Cowboys have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL once again. They are a strong unit in terms of the five guys that start but they also have nice depth behind them, even with 2019 rookie Connor McGovern heading to IR before the start of the season after dealing with pectoral injuries.

One of the depth pieces that the Cowboys have in place is former second-round pick (by the Texans) Xavier Su’a-Filo. Su’a-Filo saw time for Dallas last season when injuries and illness really weakened the offensive line group. However, with the Cowboys line now fully healthy and back in action, Su’a-Filo isn’t seeing the field, having played just seven snaps through the first three games.

Though the tackle play for the Cleveland Browns has certainly not been ideal, the play of Eric Kush has been an issue as well. Furthermore, it’s clear that the coaching staff in Cleveland does not believe that 2018 draft pick Austin Corbett is ready to see game action, if he ever will be. Thus, a trade for a veteran player like Su’a-Filo might be a good move for them.

The Cowboys could also potentially provide tackle help with backup Cameron Fleming but that seems like a move the Browns wouldn’t really be interested in. Su’a-Filo, however, could be to help give Cleveland a new look on the interior and hopefully cut down on the pressures that Kush has been giving up in the middle of the protection.
