Green Bay Packers: Aaron Jones’ career day headlines standouts vs. Cowboys
4. Jimmy Graham, TE
With Davante Adams out of the lineup while dealing with a turf toe injury suffered against the Eagles, the big question for the Packers entering Week 5 is who would step up among the group of pass-catchers for Aaron Rodgers. The answer, however, was ultimately no one in regards to the wide receivers and tight ends.

Amidst his huge day, Aaron Jones was actually Green Bay’s leading receiver on Sunday afternoon. Second on the team behind him, though, was veteran tight end Jimmy Graham. He wasn’t used heavily against the Cowboys, getting just three targets on the day. Having said that, the experienced tight end caught all three balls for 41 yards on the day.
Graham isn’t being named a standout for garnering 41 yards receiving, though. In fact, you could argue that he should’ve been a bigger factor in the passing game than what he did given that Adams was not in the lineup. Even still, Graham finds his way onto this list for doing something quite uncharacteristic for him throughout his career: blocking.
The Packers offensive line struggled on Sunday, which makes Jones’ effort that much more impressive. However, Graham was surprisingly active in the middle of the field and at the second level in locking up guys to try and spring Jones for extra yards. It was refreshing to see the pass-catching specialist show up in that regard and have an impact in what was the Packers’ most successful offensive plan of attack.
