3. James White

Running back James White is the first player that must step up on Thursday against the Giants. Over the course of the past few games, White has shown the underrated ability to be a dual-threat running back out of the backfield for the Patriots. That is something that might appear early and often again on Thursday night against the Giants.

In the victory over the Washington Redskins a week ago, White finished the contest with a total of 72 yards, split between the running and passing games. Through the air, White hauled in a total of six catches on nine targets to finish with 46 yards receiving. On the ground, he managed to run for 26 yards on six carries for New England.

With fellow running back Sony Michel putting together a solid performance for the Patriots on the ground in Week 5 in the nation’s capital, New England might look at Michel to once again get a bulk of the carries in the running game while trying to incorporate White more into the passing game when he is within the offensive unit.

That might also be a point of emphasis for the Patriots in the game since they have been dealing with a few players in the wide receiving group that are currently trying to battle through injuries.

One player to keep an eye on throughout the course of the game on Thursday night is White and how New England incorporates the dual-threat running back on the offensive end of the ball.
